Sunday after church I asked Aalliyah if she wanted to paint pumpkins in the spirit of Halloween. She speedily replied--"Yes I do!" and then asked "Can we have a pumpkin pageant?!"
Although I didn't know what that was, I said "ok", and kind of asked myself "What did I just say yes to?" We got over to my house to join up with Tudie and Beverly.
Off we went to our "pumpkin pageant" and we ate bagel bites (Which she said was the best food she had ever had in the entire planet), apples with caramel slices, decorated Halloween cookies, and practiced our cheers in the spirit of our Pumpkin Pageant.
After too much sugar, fun cheering, and watching Charlie Brown's "The Great Pumpkin" we laughed and I drove her home. On the way back to her house all she could talk about is her Tina Turner Halloween costume and she practiced her "Proud Mary" dance as best as she could with her seat belt on.
I love Aalliyah. I love our times together and how time with her is special, hilarious, and keeps me guessing. I love calling her neighbor.
PS
If you are wondering if you just saw Eric in the background cheering and dancing...you are correct. Please do not sue us for any damages viewing his dance moves has done to your brain and if it has caused you emotional distress.
